College Students Document Life Without Computers
12/18/2007

A December 16, 2007 USA Today article reports on some Carleton College (Minnesota) students who, as an assignment for their documentary-making course, avoided all use of computers for a predetermined amount of time. Their experiences will be compiled into a documentary, which will later be screened on campus. The students encountered several challenges without their computers, both academically and socially. For example, there were several assignments for other courses that required access to computers. In addition, the students had a difficult time staying in touch with their friends without the use of instant messaging, e-mail, and social networking sites.

The article is available at the USA Today Web site.
