Families Reminded to Beware of Financial Aid Scams
11/7/2007

Families seeking ways to help students pay for college are reminded to beware of financial aid scams. Information and assistance with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available, free-of-charge, from numerous sources. Families are advised to use caution when asked to pay a fee for information or services that they could obtain at no charge.

A November 4, 2007 article from the Record Searchlight (Redding, California), which discusses financial aid scams and provides a listing of warning signs, is available at the Redding.com Web site.
