Tips to Help Families Get Back into School Year Routine
8/14/2007

An August 12, 2007 article from The News-Gazette (East Central Illinois) provides parents with tips for helping their children prepare to make the transition back to school in the fall. Experts recommend starting to return to the school year routine (e.g., going to bed earlier, etc.) at least two weeks prior to the first day of classes. Other suggestions include making sure that children eat a healthy breakfast, getting the next day's materials organized each evening, and setting aside an area of the home for studying. The article also includes advice from Illinois parents who have already gone through the back-to-school transition because their students attend balanced-calendar schools.

The article is available at the Web site of the The News-Gazette.
