Illinois Dropouts May Have Drivers Licenses Revoked Until Age 18
7/23/2007

A July 23, 2007 article from the Daily Herald (Chicago suburbs) reports on a new state law that revokes driving privileges for Illinois teenagers who skip classes or drop out of school. The law (which took effect on July 1, 2007) allows for a teenager's drivers license to be revoked until the age of 18 if that teenager has excessive unexcused absences, is expelled or drops out of school. Driving privileges may be reinstated upon the individual's return to school.

The article is available at the Daily Herald Web site.
