According to a July 17, 2007 article from Forbes Magazine, U.S. retailers are anticipating slower back-to-school sales for the upcoming school year. Retailers will need to compete with high gasoline prices, among other things, for consumer spending dollars. Families will likely benefit from several back-to-school sales, as retailers compete with one another for sales. Clothing stores and online entities (such as Amazon.com) are expected to see the highest back-to-school sales.
