Comic Books Used to Prepare Students for College Entrance Exams
7/9/2007

According to a July 9, 2007 article from the Chicago Sun-Times, Japanese comic books are now doubling as study tools for students preparing to take college entrance exams (such of the ACT or SAT). Through a deal with Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions, the TOKYOPOP company has produced comic books incorporating over 300 vocabulary words that often appear on the tests. Definitions for these words are provided in the margins of the comic book. The books, which sell for less than $10 each, are part of the popular manga (Japanese graphic novels) genre.

The article is available at the Chicago Sun-Times Web site.
