Report Suggests High School Courses May Not Be Preparing Students for College
5/16/2007

A May 15, 2007 press release announces results of a recent Rigor at Risk research report from ACT, Inc. According to the report, core high school courses in the United States may not be rigorous enough to prepare students for college-level work. In some cases, even students who follow a college-preparatory curriculum in high school lack the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in college. The report also indicates that, during the last two years of high school, many students lose academic momentum.

The press release is available at the ACT Web site.
