Study Indicates Bullying Common in Elementary Schools
4/17/2007

According to an April 16, 2007 article, results from a survey conducted by California's Lucile Packard Children's Hospital and the Stanford University School of Medicine indicate that bullying is common in elementary schools. Of the 270 3rd- through 6th-grade students participating in the study, 60% said they have participated in bullying and 90% said they have been bullied. For purposes of the survey, bullying could be either direct (physical threat) or indirect (mental or emotional threat) in nature.

The article is available at the NBC5 (Chicago) Web site.
