Online Advanced Placement Courses Increase in Popularity
4/5/2007

According to a March 30, 2007 Education Week article, more high school students are taking Advanced Placement (AP) courses online. The online courses are popular with students at both small schools (which may not have a large enough student body to offer AP classes) and large schools (where there may be so many interested students that not everyone can be accommodated). There has also been an increase in the number of online AP course providers in recent years, including virtual schools, colleges and non-profit organizations. The increased popularity of the online AP courses seems to coincide with a greater acceptance of online classes in general.

The article is available at the Education Week Web site.
