Goal Planning
Your skills and interests will play a major role in your career-decision process. If you enjoy math now, perhaps you’d like to continue using math in your career. If you like to play music, see how you can further your talents for a career in music. Or perhaps you like to lead student organizations and would like to continue being a leader in the future.

Think about and write down 10 different skills, talents, activities, interests or personality traits that are unique and important to you. Use this list to determine possible career opportunities that utilize those skills and talents. And make sure you choose professions you think you might enjoy. Research these careers to better understand them, and ask your counselor for help matching your interests and personality to different jobs—including those jobs you may not even know exist.
