The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) would like to make you aware of the following information, which may be of interest to students and their families.
2009-10 FAFSA Available
The 2009-10 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available online. Specific details, including links to several resources (such as the FAFSA on the Web Worksheet, IllinoisMentor's FAFSA Transfer functionality, and a PDF version of the FAFSA) are provided via the Student Zone's Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) page.
When completing the FAFSA on the Web, which is the application method that provides the quickest results, remember that you (and your parent, if you are a dependent student) must use an electronic Personal Identification Number (PIN) from the U.S. Department of Education (ED). Once obtained, the same PIN is used to complete each year's FAFSA.
Check out the College Awareness & Preparation (CAP) page at collegezone.com for information regarding resources that are available to help you complete the financial aid process. Several events, including FAFSA completion seminars, will take place across the State of Illinois from now through March. Plan to attend the event that best fits your schedule.
CAP is a comprehensive effort of the Illinois Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (ILASFAA), Inc., the Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC) and ISAC. Formerly known as Financial Aid Admission/Awareness Month (FAAM), CAP strives to fulfill its mission through a series of workshops, seminars and statewide support with partners from all sectors of education in the State of Illinois.
