Careers
One of the main reasons you probably decided to go to college is to get the job you want, or advance to a higher-level position. Most career opportunities depend on having a college degree or certificate. If you’re not sure what you want to do yet, but would like to start working toward a degree, there’s no rush to decide exactly what job you want to have. Though, if you do know which direction you’d like to go, it might help you become better prepared by starting to develop your skills now. Check out the Occupational Handbook and the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) Web site to start reviewing careers today.
