Preparing for college can be a lot of work. But if you start early, and take planning step by step, getting to college will be no sweat. Use the following checklist to get started in the right direction.

6th-8th Grades

  • Talk with your parents and guidance counselor about college. Find out what you can do to start getting ready now.
  • Explore different interests and find those things that you enjoy most.
  • Develop good study habits and schedule study time each day.
  • Research college-prep course options with your school counselor to determine what your school offers.
  • Begin planning for high school and research college-prep courses for your freshman curriculum.

For additional information, be sure to visit the Middle & High School Students area of the Mapping Your Future Web site.
